About the event

As a perk of becoming a W.A tuition student, riders get exclusive oppertunities to field trips, workshops, and Horse show activities.

Our schooling horse shows are "closed" events designed to help our students learn and adapt to the horse show environment. Lessons change in structure to help better prepare riders negotiate the new demands that go hand-&-hand with showing. During these events, students are shown how to register themselves, present to a judge, and hone their sportsmanship skills. Ribbons and trophies are presented to proficent entries while the entire agenda follows that of an "OPEN FUN" show; including flat judged classes, pattern classes, and gaming classes. To qualify to compete, riders must meet the following criteria:

A)be enrolled in weekly riding lessons with a W.A instructor

B)be able to walk/jog/reverse confidently and safely in a group setting

Following the IEA(Interscholastic Equestrian Association), entries will draw for the W.A Lesson horse they will be showing for the entirety of the afternoon. Entries may sign up for as many or as few classes as they would like. Assistance will be avalible at the show desk to help entries and families learn how to negotiate sign-ups. Students interested in volunteering may also sign up to help organize the event.

The goal for these types of workshops is to teach riders how to conduct themselves under pressure and manage both winning and loosing with grace. These classrooms focus on producing good sportsmen and all-around horsemen. Once riders have participated in at least one of our schooling shows, they may be invited to join our show team and travel to compete at "real" horse shows.
